A familiar face and a newcomer are taking their places at the McDonald County Schools Board of Education table. Incumbent Frank Woods and newly elected member Bob Campbell were sworn in at last week’s School Board meeting. Woods is serving in his 15th year as a school board member. Campbell will be serving his first term. Both were elected earlier this month from a field of five people running for the two open seats. They will serve a 3-year term on the board. Thanks to both men for wanting to serve McDonald County Schools and make a difference in every child, every day, whatever it takes!

Because of your support, the school will be able to access money to build six storm shelters on campuses across the district as well as improvements to other areas of our schools. Safety for our students, staff, and community! Watch for more details on the great things to come! And thanks once again for making a difference in every child, every day, whatever it takes!

It’s School Board Recognition Week in Missouri and we’re honoring the members of the McDonald County School District. Bobby Parish has served on the board for two years. He and his wife own Bob’s Hometown Pizza in Noel, MO and he also works as a telecommunications technician. Parish says “being able to be a part of making a difference in the lives and the future of the students entrusted to us” has been one of the most fulfilling parts of his time on the school board. “The fact that the taxpayers and the public have enough trust in us that they allow me and the other board members to represent them in this manner has also been very rewarding,” said Parish. Thanks, Bobby Parish, for leading McDonald County Schools to make a difference in the lives of every child, every day, whatever it takes.

As part of Missouri School Board Recognition Week, we are honoring the members of our McDonald County School Board. Dennis Bergen has been serving on the board for two years. He is the pastor at Banner Church of the Nazarene near Splitlog, MO, and a retired teacher from McDonald County Schools. “ McDonald County Schools have given so much to me – wife, son, and myself have been employed here,” said Bergen. “It has been a pleasure to serve, and hopefully to give something back. Plus, I still get to be involved in the school system.” Thanks, Dennis Bergen, for leading McDonald County Schools to make a difference in every child, every day, whatever it takes!
