  • Mrs. Reece District Teacher of the Year   

    Reece TOY  

    Mrs. Tonja Reece, kindergarten teacher at Southwest City Elementary, received the esteemed title of McDonald County R-1 School District's Teacher of the Year.  Recognized for her excellence in education within McDonald County, Mrs. Reece will now advance to the state level Teacher of the Year competition.  Good luck, Mrs. Reece!

  •  TEACHERS OF THE YEAR

    McDonald County School District recognized each school's Teacher of the Year at a banquet held in the recipients' honor on Tuesday, April 28th at the Corner Cafe in Southwest City.  The following teachers were recognized by their students and peers as Teachers of the Year in their respective buildings:

  • Two MCHS Seniors Honored

    All Academin  
    Courtney Driver and Connor Underwood were two of only twenty area seniors bestowed the honor by the Joplin Globe as members of the All-Area Academic Excellence Team.  Courtney and Connor were invited to the awards banquet in which they were ask to bring a teacher that inspired them.  Math teacher, Darbi Stancell, and science teacher, Joelle Stark, proudly accompanied Courtney and Connor as they were formally recognized for their remarkable achievement.

  •  Groundbreaking of Fine Art Auditorium
    and FEMA Safe Structure.

    Students, teachers, administrators and school board members participated in the Groundbreaking Ceremony on April 20, 2015 at the site of the long anticipated Fine Art Auditorium and FEMA Safe Structure.
